EARLY LIFE
Lanah Sophie, originally named Nampala Sofie, was born to Hassan Wasswa and Sarah. She discovered her passion for music at a young age, starting to sing at Nsanji Primary School when she was just 9 years old. Notably, she was chosen as the soloist for all the school choir’s folk songs.
After completing her A levels, Lanah Sophie initially pursued a nursing course. However, her deep love for music led her to switch to a music course (VOICE) at the Kampala Music School.
Opting for the stage name Lanah Sophie over her given name, she embarked on her musical journey.
