Juliana Kanyomozi, born on November 27, 1980, in Kampala to Prince Gerald Manyindo and Catherine Manyindo, spent her formative years in Kampala and attended Bugema Adventist S.S. for senior one before enrolling at Namasagali College.
Her musical talent was nurtured from an early age, influenced by her father’s love for music and drumming as a hobby. Encouraged by Father Damian Grimes, the headteacher at Namasagali College, Juliana began participating in dance classes after showcasing her singing skills at a school event where she performed a Mariah Carey song.
During her teenage years, Juliana began exploring her musical aspirations through karaoke, facilitated by her brother Eddie Kim, who was a DJ at Sabrina’s Pub, owned by producer Hope Mukasa.
Juliana’s breakthrough in the music industry came when she met Steve Jean at Sabrina’s, leading to the production of her debut song and album collaboration with Iryn Namubiru as I-Jay.
Her debut single, “Tata W’abaana,” alongside Bobi Wine, propelled her career to new heights, followed by another successful collaboration titled “Mama Mbire.”
Additionally, during her final year of high school, Juliana secured a position as a radio host at Capital FM, where she remained for approximately six years.
Juliana has also showcased her acting skills in the movie “Kiwani,” produced by Henry Ssali, a former Daily Monitor Entertainment writer who now owns a PR firm.
