Zex Bilangilangi, whose real name is Mayega Tadeo B., was raised in the Kamwokya slum in Kampala, Uganda. As both an artist and activist, he delved into the realm of meaningful music at the age of 17 with the intention of using his artistic abilities to bring about positive change in the impoverished neighborhoods.
Zex actively collaborated with various charitable organizations, and his path intersected with that of Ghetto President Bobi Wine during a talent search organized by the latter. This encounter led to Zex joining Bobi Wine’s Fire Base Crew, a renowned music label celebrated for its commitment to edutainment, uplifting music, and arts in general. Zex ascended to a prominent position within the crew, earning the affectionate title of “ghetto prime minister” from Bobi Wine.
Since affiliating with the Fire Base Crew, Zex has emerged as a beacon of inspiration for the youth in Uganda, particularly those residing in economically disadvantaged ghettos.
