Prince Omar, born Mukose Umar on December 1, 1999, is a talented Ugandan recording artist, singer, songwriter, and performer currently residing in Canada. Emerging as one of the swiftly rising young stars in his home country, he is recognized for his distinctive style and dedicated work ethic, evident in the high-quality music videos he produces.
What sets Prince Omar apart is his multifaceted talent, showcasing proficiency in various areas. As a singer-songwriter, he is not only a performer but also a skilled composer proficient in playing nearly every musical instrument.
The genesis of Prince Omar’s musical journey traces back to his formative years when he honed his singing abilities by immersing himself in popular music. Inspired by the achievements of fellow young musicians such as Juliana, Eddy Kenzo, and Afrigo Band, whom he admired during his childhood, Prince Omar aspired to pursue a career in music.
In 2018, Prince Omar officially launched his music career with the release of his debut song, “Biliroliro,” which garnered widespread acclaim among Ugandans. The 19-year-old artist has since followed up with another release titled “Ogunsimbye.”
Reflecting on his roots, Prince Omar was born in Wakiso District and grew up in Namasuba, a suburb of Kampala. His educational journey includes attending Sir Apollo Kagwa Primary School, Kibuli Secondary School, Kawempe Muslim School, and Greenhill Academy for his secondary education. Currently, he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Great Lakes College in Toronto, Canada.
