If you find yourself caught in the throes of marriage fever, Ragga Dee has a message for you. He tied the knot with Mariam Kazibwe on January 19, 2008, at Namirembe Cathedral in Kampala. The extravagant wedding celebration took place at the Kampala Serena Hotel, and it is said that Ragga Dee’s nuptials inspired other celebrities to follow suit, with Jose Chameleone marrying Daniella Atim three months later and Bobi Wine walking Barbie Itungo down the aisle three years after.
When Crystal Newman asked him if he regrets spending lavishly on his wedding, Ragga Dee, whose real name is Dan Kazibwe, responded, “You know, usually people face many problems after weddings. But we’ve been through it, we’ve raised our kids, and our relationship has grown stronger than before. We’ve learned more about life than before.”
The ‘Kamukube Empeta’ hitmaker elaborated on how marriage can be detrimental if entered into without thorough planning, likening it to a “proper death sentence.” He emphasized the importance of understanding the intricacies of marriage, stating, “Sometimes you get into marriages, and you are not sure of what you are getting into. Because marriage is like a proper death sentence. [Laughs]. For those who are not married yet, they need to know.”
Ragga Dee advised prospective couples to recognize the dos and don’ts of marriage and to be prepared for the significant changes it brings. He pointed out that breakups often occur because people fail to understand the inner workings of marriage, emphasizing the need to get ready and set oneself up for the journey.
Ragga Dee and his wife, Mariam Kazibwe, share a history of growing up in the same neighborhood in Najjanankumbi, Kampala.
