Lydia Nabawanuka, widely recognized by her stage name Lydia Jazmine, is a female recording artist hailing from Masaka, Uganda, born in 1991.

Her musical odyssey commenced during high school, where she first found her passion for music by joining the school choir.

Later on, Lydia was enlisted by the music group Radio and Weasel, where she played the role of a backing vocalist.

Jazmine’s academic journey led her to Victoria Nile School for her elementary education, and then to Saint Mary’s School Namaliga in Kimenyedde sub-county, Mukono District. She completed her high school at Cityland College Matugga in Matugga, Wakiso District. In February 2016, she graduated from Multitech Business School in Kampala, Uganda’s capital, with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management degree.

Lydia’s musical career was propelled when she joined a band called Gertnum after high school, where she contributed background vocals. Subsequently, she signed as a back-up singer with the music group Radio and Weasel, lending her vocal talents to songs like “Ntunga” and “Breath Away”. She further extended her vocal support to artists like Bebe Cool and Sheebah Karungi. Her debut single was a duet with Rabadaba titled “You Know”, released around 2014.

During ‘Coke Studio Africa 2017’, Lydia Jazmine teamed up with Mozambique’s Liloca and collaborated under the guidance of South African music producer Sketchy Bongo.
