Levixone, a gospel singer from Uganda, defied challenging circumstances and achieved success in 2013 with his hit song “Nonya omu.” Growing up in the slums of Kampala’s Kosovo, Levixone faced adversity but eventually emerged as a notable figure in the music industry.
Assisted by producers like Steve Jean and Legend P, Levixone recorded his first single at Fenon Records, marking the beginning of his musical journey. He continued to produce hit singles, including “Chikibombe,” “Jungle,” “Passport,” and others. Apart from his musical pursuits, Levixone runs a charity named 92 Hands, dedicated to providing food, education, shelter, and skills training to underprivileged children.
Born Lucas Lubyogo in 1992 in Nakasongola district, Levixone’s childhood was marked by challenges and revelations about his family. He moved to Kosovo with his family, facing rejection from his stepfather and eventually running away due to a threat on his life.
During his time on the streets, Levixone engaged in various activities to survive, from selling water to picking up trash. His encounter with Neil Fox from Fields of Life paved the way for him to return to school, fulfilling his dream.
Levixone’s entry into the music scene began when he attended a performance at Pastor Namutebi’s church, seizing the opportunity to showcase his talent. Encounters with individuals like Crystal Fabulous and Tick Tah led him to a studio, connecting him with influential musicians and producers.
Despite initial challenges, Levixone’s breakthrough came with the single “Nonya omu,” recorded at Fenon records. Since then, he has become a prominent gospel artist in Uganda, earning accolades such as Best Male Artist in East Africa at the 2018 Sauti Awards.
Levixone’s notable songs include “Chikibombe,” “Play it again,” “Samanya,” “Ponya Ani,” “More blessings,” and “Watching you.” His Kosovo boy album has further solidified his position in the music industry.
Beyond his musical achievements, Levixone is actively involved in charity work through 92 Hands, focusing on uplifting the lives of vulnerable children in Kosovo. However, his life has not been without controversy, notably returning a gifted Mercedes Convertible from Lanek, another gospel artist, citing its use in instigating unnecessary conflicts.
Levixone’s journey from the slums of Kosovo to becoming an acclaimed gospel artist and philanthropist is a testament to resilience and determination.
