Childhood and Education
Born on November 24, 1992, in Lugazi, Mukono District, which is currently part of the Buikwe District, Jovan Luzinda is the third child of Salongo Samuel Luzinda and Eva Nantongo. Raised in a family of business owners, with his mother running a motor spare parts business in Lugazi and his father working as a metal fabricator, Luzinda attended Wintson Primary School before progressing to Lugazi Parents Secondary School in Najjanankumbi, a suburb of Kampala.
Engaging in extracurricular activities such as singing and playing football during his school years, Luzinda displayed an early interest in music. Despite participating in these activities, he faced challenges in completing his secondary education. His struggles escalated to the point of sleeping in restrooms, seeking refuge where he wouldn’t be chased away.
Career in Music
Amidst his challenging circumstances, Luzinda’s mother encouraged him to participate in the New Eagles talent hunt program in 2015, led by Geoffrey Lutaaya. Despite facing opposition from his father, who hurled derogatory insults at him, Luzinda’s mother’s support and blessings played a pivotal role in his musical journey. Passing the auditions, he persisted in pursuing music.
