The Goodlyfe Crew, comprised of musicians from Uganda, features Moses Radio (birth name Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo) and Weasel (born Douglas Mayanja) as its standout artists. Initially serving as backup singers for Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone, Radio and Weasel departed from Chameleone’s Leone Island Crew in 2008 to establish the Goodlyfe Crew. Subsequently, the duo gained radio success in Uganda, and their debut album, “Nakudata,” was released in 2008, followed by other albums like “Lwaki Onumya,” “Zuena,” “Nyambura,” and “Bread and Butter.”
In their early years, the duo collaborated with artists such as Rachel Kay, Blu*3, OS, Toniks, GNL, and General Ozzy from Zambia. They later ventured into live performances and collaborated with fellow Ugandan artist Keko.
Moses Radio’s musical style is characterized by smooth R&B, while Weasel’s incorporates a blend of reggae, ragga, and dancehall sounds. Other members of the Goodlyfe Crew include Gift of Kaddo MCs, Diamond Oscar, Mr. X, Buaman, Allan Kiwanuka, and Jeff Kiwanuka, who also serves as the group’s manager. Each member has released solo albums.
The Goodlyfe Crew operates its own production company, Goodlyfe Magic. The group has received numerous accolades, including awards at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, Buzz Teeniez Awards Uganda, and the BET Music Awards. Notable achievements include winning Song of the Year for “Nakudata,” “Best AfroBeat Single” for “Zuena,” and “Best International Act, Africa,” at the 2013 BET Music Awards.
