Kigozi George William, recognized by his stage name Geosteady, is a prominent R&B singer, songwriter, and producer hailing from Uganda. Renowned for his musical prowess, Geosteady achieved acclaim for the collaborative track “SAME WAY,” earning him the 2016 Uganda Entertainment Award for Best Collaboration.
In 2016, he secured the HiPipo Music Awards for Best Zouk and continued his winning streak with accolades such as Best Song and Best R&B Contemporary Artist at the 2017 HSMAs and ZZINA 2017.
Early Life:
Born on April 1, 1990, in Mulago, Uganda, Kigozi George William was the sixth child in a family of six. Displaying his musical inclination from a young age, he actively participated in the school choir. His educational journey included St. Henry’s Primary School in Ndikutamadda, St. Henry’s College in Gangu for O-levels, and Masaka Secondary School for A-levels.
Musical Journey:
Realizing his passion for singing, Geosteady embarked on a musical career, initially as an audio producer in 2011 and later emerging as a well-known musician in 2012. Throughout his musical journey, he has released an array of songs, including Mbuuza, Ntunulira, Lwambeera, Nawuuma, Mpita, Apaana, Viola, Get Up Speak Out, African Baibe, Silubala, Kayirigombe, Lovenjitis, Come to me, Wakikyenga, No more Edit, Omufeere, Take You Home, Same Way, and Owooma. Geosteady has also collaborated with renowned artists such as Eddy Kenzo, Lydia Jazmine, Don Mc, Navio, Lisa Viola, Charly & Nina, and performed at various international locations, including South Africa, Rwanda, Dubai, and notably being the first Ugandan musician to captivate Doha, Qatar.
Record Company and Achievements:
Operating under the banner of Blackman, his record company, Geosteady has left an indelible mark on the music scene. Noteworthy is his inaugural “Geosteady Live In Concert” scheduled for September 8, 2017, at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, followed by performances in Las Vegas, London, and Istanbul.
Philanthropic Initiatives:
Beyond his musical endeavors, Geosteady has dedicated himself to philanthropy. As a Brand Ambassador for Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU), a youth-led organization empowering young people with up-to-date health information, he contributes to informed decision-making. Additionally, Geosteady recently launched the St. George Foundation Uganda (SGFU), a charitable initiative aimed at nurturing well-rounded children and providing support to those in need.
