Chosen Becky, born Kukiriza Rebecca, is a young and talented singer and songwriter, renowned for her breakout hit “Bankuza,” which gained immense popularity on radio waves in late 2018 and early 2019.
Hailing from Masaka, Chosen Becky attributes much of her success to her former management, Nick Productions, and the guidance of her former manager, Victor Kamenyo. Born around the year 2000, Chosen Becky was raised in a Christian household with her father, a pastor, and her mother, a born-again Christian. Her educational journey took her to primary school in Nyendo, secondary school at St. Anthony Kayunga, and completion of grade four at St. Gerald’s. Financial constraints prevented her from pursuing A levels after finishing senior four.
Career in Music:
Chosen Becky discovered her singing talent during her primary seven class at the age of 13. Encouraged by her older sister’s absence, she stepped in as a replacement, learning to sing and honing her skills. Her entry into the music scene began with a job in Masaka, where she caught the attention of Mr. Joseph Kiwangwaa from NIK Cosmetics. Mr. Joseph facilitated her introduction to NIK Productions, leading to the recording of her first single, “Bankuza.”
The success of “Bankuza” propelled Chosen Becky into the limelight, prompting the hiring of Victor Kamenyo as her official manager. Despite her initial reluctance due to her strict Christian upbringing, Chosen Becky’s career flourished. In 2019, she held her first concert, featuring the hit songs “Bankuza” and “Byabangi.”
Later Ventures and Controversies:
In 2019, Chosen Becky left NIK Production and joined David Lutalo’s management. However, this collaboration was short-lived, and she eventually ventured out on her own. Her career has been marked by controversies, including debates over the father of her second child and disputes with her former manager, Victor Kamenyo.

Chosen Becky is married to her longtime boyfriend, TV West host Annabell Twinomugisha, since October 16, 2021. They got engaged during the first wave of the Covid-19 lockdown in July 2020. Chosen Becky has two children, with her first son born when she was 16 years old. Her relationship history includes a previous involvement with photographer Jjagwe Ronald, who is the father of her first child. Controversies arose regarding the father of her second child, ultimately revealed to be blogger Amir.
