After breaching the contract by failing to appear for a performance at Deluxe Lounge in Mbarara, singer Alien Skin has agreed to reimburse the money. This decision came following a notice of intention to sue issued by the event organizers through their legal representatives.
The notice sent to Alien Skin stated, “Deluxe Grill and Lounge Mbarara intends to sue you for breach of contract after you failed to perform at its facility on October 28, 2023.”
Before the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum, the Fangone Forest president refunded the Shs5 million that was initially paid for the gig.
Events promoter Balaam Barugahare, who first reported Alien Skin’s absence at the show, confirmed the development. He expressed appreciation for Alien Skin’s professional conduct in fully reimbursing the Bwezibwera Event Local Organizing Committee.
Balaam stated, “This is a professional conduct. I urge other artists to follow this example by promptly refunding organizers whenever they are unable to appear. It’s regrettable that you couldn’t perform despite being fully compensated. Nonetheless, considering your explanation, we understand the external pressures you faced. As a music and events promoter, I assure future business collaborations. I advise you to be cautious with opportunists!” Balaam tweeted on Wednesday.
