Biography, Songs, Health, Early Life, and Education of Lil Pazo
Yasin Mukasa, widely recognized as Lil Pazo, is a Ugandan singer and songwriter renowned for his talent in reggae music. Born to the late Sulaiman Ssezobwe Swabirina Nakakawa in Kalisizo Jongoza Village, Kyotera District (later moved to Masaka District), Lil Pazo’s father was Sulaiman Ssezobwe Swabirina Nakakawa.
His educational journey led him through Kayayumbe Primary School and Kabingo Primary School, where he completed his Primary Leaving Examination (PLE). Lil Pazo continued to St. Ssebasitiyan Bethlehem Secondary School until financial constraints forced him to discontinue his studies during senior three.
Upon arriving in Kampala, Lil Pazo, under the guidance of his older brother Muzamir Kakeeto, delved into culinary skills, mastering the art of making chapattis, Rolex, and Ekikomando. Subsequently, he worked for James Kawuyi, owner of a chapatti stall in Mutungo Biina, earning 500 shillings a day and sustaining himself on chapattis.
His journey took an unfortunate turn when a friend deceived him into paying 150,000 shillings for a promised job at the Sheraton Hotel, a venture that never materialized. Undeterred, Lil Pazo transitioned to driving a boda boda in Kibe Zone Bwaise. However, this profession led to his arrest and a subsequent two-week confinement at Kawempe Police Station.
Further challenges arose when Lil Pazo lost his boss’s motorcycle to thieves at Kazo stage during a four-day Karaoke event in Bukuya. Accused of reckless driving and carelessness, he faced additional hardships.
Amidst these struggles, Lil Pazo’s encounters with musicians at D-Records Studios, including Ziza Bafana and Fantom, marked a turning point. Meeting producers Renix and Wani fueled his passion for music, and with their support, he immersed himself in the music industry.
In 2010, Lil Pazo released his debut single, “Yegwe,” which he wrote, and Renix recorded for free. He gained exposure by participating in music shows such as Bebe Cool’s Gagamel Crew.
Career in Music
Before finding solace in music, Lil Pazo endured hardships, including a period of living on the streets. The challenging street life taught him valuable lessons but also posed significant difficulties.
In 2007, Lil Pazo left his parents’ home in pursuit of work in Kampala, acknowledging their inability to finance his education. Despite facing adversity, he persevered and ultimately emerged as the CEO of Lunabe Music Entertainment/Tritone Entertainment, known for the hit song “Genda Ogule Emotoka.”
In partnership with Karma Records, Lil Pazo’s Lunabe Music Crew aims to elevate Ugandan music. Influenced by artists like Ziza Bafana and the late Herman Basudde, he has left an indelible mark on the Ugandan music scene.

Lil Pazo earned recognition from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, commending his philanthropic efforts during Uganda’s first COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. He was noted as one of the first musicians to contribute food to the National Task Force.
