When Bebe Cool purchased a car for his longtime producer Ronnie, his comments spurred Jose Chameleone to demonstrate that he had given cars to more individuals in the past. In 2020, Moses Ssali, known as Bebe Cool, presented Ronnie with a Toyota Mark X and gifted his manager Ronnie Mutabazi a Mercedes Benz C200. Addressing the media, the Gagamel Crew leader expressed that the car for Producer Ronnie was a token of appreciation for his significant contributions to the industry over the years.
While Bebe Cool claimed he made the gesture publicly to inspire others, Chameleone, who responded to Bebe in a media statement, criticized public displays of giving as a form of showing off and deemed it disrespectful to the recipient.
Both the producer and the manager had been collaborating with Bebe Cool for over a decade. In an apparent effort to substantiate his position, Chameleone disclosed that he had also given away some of his old cars to individuals within his music circle, friends, and family members, including his wife.
Chameleone listed instances such as gifting cars to his brothers AK47 and Weasel, presenting a Toyota Premio to his friend Karima Jamiru, giving his manager Robert Jackson Nkuke, alias Mutima, a Benz, and providing several cars to his ex-wife, Daniella Atim. The Valu Valu hitmaker also mentioned giving his first car to the Amarula family comedian and singer Eddy Kigere.
Notably, a year prior to Bebe Cool’s gesture to the mentioned duo, he had also gifted his associate Richard Kleberson a Toyota Alphard. It is pertinent to highlight that Ronnie, the producer, had previously worked on notable tracks like “Mateka” and “Champion” for Jose Chameleone.
