Pia Pounds, whose real name is Tracy Kirabo, revealed that her father was absent from her life entirely. Speaking on Galaxy TV, she shared, "My dad wasn't in my life at all... I first saw him when I got signed in 2018 to Eddy Kenzo's Big Talent Entertainment. That's the first time I met my dad... I was 21." Her musical journey commenced in church, where she sang alongside her elder half-brother, a budding singer. They initially worked at West End Studios, owned by Aziz Azion in Makindye, before relocating to Ragga Dee's studio (DV Records) in 2010 when Pia Pounds was 14 years old. A significant collaboration with Ragga Dee on the song "Just the Way You Are" marked her introduction to the music industry, and the video was filmed during her S.4 vacation at the age of 15. During the same vacation, Pia Pounds worked as a salesperson at the Insurance Company of East Africa. An encounter with a benefactor led to the sponsorship of her first song, recorded at Jahlive where she met the producer Kusseim. Despite initial recording attempts bearing no fruit and losing contact with Kusseim due to school commitments, fate intervened in her second year at university when a contact from New York, associated with Big Talent, reconnected her with Kusseim, who had moved to the same label in October 2016. Despite facing delays in collaborating with Eddy Kenzo, Pia Pounds persisted with encouragement from Kusseim. By 2018, she had recorded about 14 songs. However, she eventually parted ways with Big Talent after facing backlash from fans of Rema, Kenzo's baby mama, who mistakenly believed she was dating Kenzo. Pia Pounds cited an incident at Wave Lounge where she had her hair pulled by individuals referencing Rema and Kenzo. Pia-Pounds
